Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids are a class of fatty acids essential to the body, which would otherwise be unable to synthesize them, so they must be taken through nutrition and food supplements, if necessary. These products generally supplied in capsules (softgels that have an optimised bioavailability for the organism) are based on oils (fish, krill or plant-derived) obtained through different techniques that allow their optimal concentration and purification (e.g. molecular distillation).
